1. How to enter Results
Help us keep the event going! We need to know how many people rode, and how far. This shows our sponsors that Bike to Work Week is a great event making a positive difference in our communities!
Need help? Here’s how to enter your results:
- Make sure you (the team leader) are logged in (you will be entering results for the whole team)
- Click on "Enter Results" (a big orange button at the top of your screen. If you don’t see it, be sure that you are logged in)
- You can enter your results each day. Your participation rate is calculated based on how many people from within your workplace or department rode each day (cyclists) compared with how many people were at work (attendees).
- Be sure to enter your team’s total kilometres each day (both ways ridden, not just one direction) This helps us calculate carbon emissions saved.
- Questions or difficulties? Contact us at email@biketowork.ca

Victoria - The Commuter Challenge event was held this morning to demonstrate the convenience of cycling in and around Greater Victoria. Teams consisting of a cyclist and car driver “raced” in following the rules of the road from Fairfield, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt and UVIC .
The results:
Of the 14 teams that officially participated, 10 bikes were victorious while only 3 cars won the match and there was one tie. The average time difference between the driver and cyclist ranged between less than one minute to as much as 11 minutes. Commutes averaged about 15 minutes. The finish line was the Bay Centre at View and Broad Street – downtown Victoria.
Notable participants were Ryder Hesjedal who lost by 1 minute to Jack Knox who biked, Hudson Mack lost by 7 minutes to Tour de Rock rider Mira Laurence (on bike), Police Chief Graham won in his cruiser by 1 minute to cyclist Mayor Dean Fortin. Also Olympic rower Anna Marie Dezwager lost to cyclist Greagory Damant of D-Ambrosia Architecture.
