2011: How do I get my colleagues involved?
A sample of how you can prep your workplace:
Bike to Work Week 2011
When: Monday May 30- June 5th 2011
How it works: Everyone at Parks Canada is part of a team: the Psycho Parks Cyclepaths. All you have to do it bike to work to participate. For those people up at Roger’s Pass this mean biking to the office in the morning to catch the commuter bus.
Why should I participate: For exercise, to enjoy fresh air, to reduce ecological footprint and because its tons of FUN!
The Good stuff: Prizes and fun!
Events:
IBike Testimonials contest: Tell us why you love to bike or share your favourite story with us in 100 words or less. Email it to sgrieve@cityofrevelstoke.com for a chance to win.
Celebrations Stations: Get your morning goodies and enter to win prizes at Grizzly Plaza and Queen Victoria Hospital from 6:45-9:00am Monday May 30.
Barriers: Need a bike or helmet? Talk to Laurie or Anne Marie at reception and we will try to help you out. Timid? Why not ask a friend to bike with you?
Participation: Based on how many people bike each day out of all the members in the workplace. While people who walk or carpool are not included in these numbers, people who drive to work decrease our participation.
For more information: check out www.biketowork.ca/revelstoke or just ask Laurie or Anne Marie at reception.
RSVP: Please confirm your desire to participate by emailing revglacier.reception@pc.gc.ca and if you know the length of your commute in kilometres one way please let us know that, too.
Try using a similar template to the one above, but make sure you customize it to suit your workplace! Send it around by email and print out a hard copy for people to read in the staff room.
Just a suggestion!
