Bike Campaign Kicks Off
While artisans and food producers peddle their wares at the new Duncan Farmers Market Saturday, April 18 in downtown Duncan, cyclists will share the space pedaling their own goods.
On April 18, a group of more than 20 cyclists plan to officially launch the countdown to Cowichan’s second annual Bike to Work Week with a group ride into City Square.
"This is a big year for Cowichan Bike to Work Week," member of the event organizing committee Aaron Bichard said. "Last year’s inaugural event was successful, but this year we’re ramping it up with more prizes, more celebration stations, and hopefully more participation."
The riders will meet at Beverly Corners at 9:30 a.m. before cycling to City Square for a 10 a.m. arrival.
Organizers will give a short talk explaining Bike to Work Week and how to participate.
In an effort to encourage people to get out of their cars for the commute to work and on to their bikes, Experience Cycling is offering a new bike as the grand draw prize of the May 11 to 17 event.

Dozens of other draw prizes and team prizes will also be available to those participating in the weeklong event.
