Helping Bike Commuters To Be More Confident and Safe On The Road In Campbell River.
We are only weeks away from Campbell River’s second annual Bike to Work Week, so it’s time to dig those bikes out of the garage. To help people feel more comfortable in participating in Bike to Work Week, a Safe Riding Skills Course is being offered. This course will cover topics such as bike and personal safety, shoulder checks, cornering, changing lanes and will highlight bike routes in Campbell River. These skills and knowledge will give you confidence to commute to work by bike during Bike To Work Week, and all summer long.
This course runs Monday May 11, 2009 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Sportsplex and costs $12. All participants must wear a properly fitted bike helmet and your bike must be in good working order.
To register or for more details for this program or any other activities please check out the City of Campbell River Parks, Recreation & Culture Recreation Guide or call the Sportsplex, 923-7911 or Community Centre, 286-1161.
