The Golden Wheel: Is Coming To A Class In SD72
The Campbell River Bike to Work Week Committee is inviting the students in SD72 to compete for The Golden Wheel Award.
HOW?
- During BTWW encourage students to try to reduce their carbon footprint by walking or biking to school; taking transit instead of the family car or car pooling.
- Everyday that a student chooses an environmentally friendly way of getting to school they will be eligible for daily draw prizes.
- At the end of the week-the elementary school class that has the highest savings in GHG per head will win a pool party at the Centennial outdoor pool (including transportation to and from the pool).
- The winning Senior/Junior high school group will receive a $200 donation towards a Green Initiative at their school.
- By participating in the competition students can win prizes, reduce their impact on the environment, decrease GHG emissions, improve physical fitness by walking and biking and help the family pocket book by driving less.
