Get Ready for Bike To Work Week 2011: Bike Tune Up Sessions Offered
Spring is here, and with the countdown to Bike to Work Week starting April 18, it’s time to get your bike tuned up.
Whether you’ll be riding to work or simply enjoying an outing along the roads and trails around town, do you know how to check your bike for safety? Do you know how to do basic bike maintenance or how to change a flat tire? What will you do if you were stuck on the trails with a flat tire and no patches or spare tubes? The City’s Recreation and Culture team is offering two great bike workshops to get you ready to roll.
Session 1 – Pre-Ride Tune-Ups (bike check, minor maintenance and flat tire repair) Wednesday, April 27 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.
Session 2 – Repairs on the Go (fast fixes and repairs while out on the trail)
Wednesday, May 4 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.
Both sessions are open to anyone 14 years and up and take place at Outdoor Addictions (1890 Island Highway). Cost: $12 each. Please preregister at either the Sportsplex or Community Centre.
